RSVPs and nudging non-responders

Short answer

Turn on Ask for RSVPs when you post an event, then open the event to see who said yes, no or nothing at all. Nudge only the non-responders, name the event and a deadline, and they can answer in one tap without opening a conversation.

An RSVP tells you how many bodies you will have before you plan the session. The useful part is not the yes count, it is being able to chase only the people who said nothing.

Ask for RSVPs

Switch on Ask for RSVPs when you post the event. Every family gets a notification with three buttons: Going, Not going and Maybe. Parents can answer for their player.

See the answers

  1. Open the event.
  2. The counts are at the top.
  3. Tap a count to see the names behind it.

The list you will spend the most time in is No response.

Nudge the ones who never answered

  1. Open the event.
  2. Tap Nudge non-responders.
  3. Only the people who have not answered are messaged, privately, with the same three buttons.

Nobody who already answered is bothered, and nothing is posted in the team chat. That is what makes it usable more than once.

Set a deadline

Add an RSVP by time when you create the event. Families are reminded automatically a few hours before it, and after it passes the event is marked closed so you can plan from a fixed number.

Changing an answer

Families can change their answer at any time, and you see the change on the event. If someone drops out late, the count updates rather than you finding out at the field.

When not to use it

Do not ask for an RSVP on every ordinary practice. If you ask for everything, people answer nothing.
