Post a game or practice from the team's Schedule by tapping New event, choosing the type, then setting the date, arrive-by time and location. One post reaches the team chat, the schedule and each family's phone calendar, and you can ask for RSVPs at the same time.
Every game, practice, tournament and team meeting is an event. You post it once and it reaches the team chat, the schedule and each family's phone calendar.
Post an event
- Open the team and tap Schedule.
- Tap New event.
- Pick the type: game, practice, tournament or other.
- Set the date and the start time.
- Set the arrive-by time. Families read this one, not the start time, so fill it in.
- Add the location. Recent locations are suggested, and the address becomes a tap to navigate link.
- Add a note for anything specific: jersey color, what to bring, parking.
- Choose whether to ask for RSVPs. On for games, usually off for regular practices.
- Tap Post.
Recurring practices
Switch on Repeat, pick the days and an end date, and the whole block is created at once. Editing a single date in the series only changes that date.
Changing or cancelling
Open the event and tap Edit. Any change to the date, time or location is announced in the chat automatically, so nobody turns up at the old field.
To cancel, open the event and tap Cancel event. Add a reason. The event stays on the schedule with a canceled marker rather than disappearing, which is what parents expect when they are checking whether they imagined it.
Weather calls
Post the call as a cancellation or an edit rather than only a chat message. Chat scrolls. The schedule does not.
