Open the team, tap Live, then Start stream to broadcast a game from your phone to your team only. It is private to team members, not public, and it is built for the grandparent two states away rather than for a full broadcast production.
You can stream a game live from your phone to the people in your team. It is meant for the grandparent two states away, not for broadcasting to the public.
Before you start
- Use a phone that is not also your scoreboard or your stopwatch.
- Wifi at a field is usually worse than cellular. Test both.
- Bring a battery pack. A full game will empty a phone.
- A cheap tripod makes a bigger difference than anything else on this list.
Go live
- Open the team and tap Live.
- Tap Start stream.
- Give the stream a name, like "vs Northside, quarter finals".
- Choose who can watch. The options are This team only and Team plus a share link.
- Tap Go live.
Everyone in the team gets a notification that you have started.
While you are live
The viewer count is on screen. Tap the pause icon for half time rather than ending the stream, so viewers keep their place. Tap End to finish.
Afterwards
The recording is saved to the team's files and stays available for the rest of the season. Anyone in the team can watch it back. You can delete it from Files.
Who can watch
Only people in the team, unless you turned on the share link. Teams are not publicly discoverable and a stream is never listed anywhere public.
Please tell parents first
Some families do not want their child filmed. Ask at the start of the season, not at the first game.
