Creating a team fee

Short answer

Create a fee from the team's Money screen: tap New fee, name it, enter the amount per player, set a due date, choose who owes it, then tap Create. It posts to the chat with a Pay button and reminders go out as the due date approaches.

A fee is any amount you need to collect from the team: season dues, a tournament, uniforms, a bus. You create it once and every family sees the same number.

Create the fee

  1. Open the team and tap Money.
  2. Tap New fee.
  3. Give it a name families will recognise, like "Spring season dues" or "Regionals travel".
  4. Enter the amount per player.
  5. Set a due date.
  6. Choose who owes it. By default that is everyone on the roster. You can deselect anyone who is exempt.
  7. Add a note if there is anything to explain, like what the money covers.
  8. Tap Create.

What happens next

The fee is posted to the team chat and appears on every family's money screen with a Pay button. Anyone who has not paid gets a reminder as the due date approaches.

Payment plans

Switch on Allow instalments when you create the fee, then set the number of payments. Families see the instalment amount rather than the full number, which usually gets more people to say yes on the first day.

Editing a fee

You can change the name, the note and the due date at any time. You can only change the amount if nobody has paid yet. If someone has already paid, create a second fee for the difference rather than editing the first.

Cash and Zelle

Families can pay you outside the app. You record that yourself so the ledger stays right. See the article on tracking who has paid.
