An assistant coach can post events, message the team, see and nudge RSVPs, upload files and see the roster. An assistant cannot create fees, see who has paid, approve or remove members, change team settings, or touch billing. Money and membership stay with the head coach.
An assistant coach is a trusted adult who can run the day to day without being able to touch money or membership. The split is deliberate, so you can hand out help without handing over the program.
What an assistant can do
- Post games, practices and cancellations
- Edit an event they created
- Send messages in the team chat, including announcements
- See RSVPs and nudge the people who have not answered
- Upload files and photos
- See the roster and contact details for the team they are on
What an assistant cannot do
- Create, edit or delete a fee
- See who has paid, or record a cash or Zelle payment
- Approve, decline, remove or change the role of a member
- Change the team name, season dates or join code
- Change anything at the program level
- Change the subscription or billing
Emergency contacts
Emergency contact details are visible to the head coach. Whether an assistant can see them is a per team setting under Settings → Members. It is off by default. Turn it on only for the people who are genuinely on the sideline.
Making someone an assistant
Open Members, tap the person, and change their role to Assistant coach. The change takes effect immediately, and they are told about it.
Handing over entirely
If you are leaving the program, you need an ownership transfer rather than an assistant role. Email us and we will walk you through it.
