Turn on Settings → Members → Approve new members and anyone who enters your join code waits in a list until you approve them. Open Members, tap the pending name, review what they entered, then tap Approve or Decline and set their role. Declines are private.
Having a code is usually enough, but you can add a second gate. With approval turned on, a person who enters the code lands in a waiting list instead of the team, and sees nothing until you approve them.
Turn approval on
- Open the team.
- Tap Settings, then Members.
- Switch on Approve new members.
We recommend leaving this on for the first week of a season, when codes circulate fastest.
Approve or decline
- Open Members. Anyone waiting appears at the top with a badge.
- Tap the name to see what they entered: their name, their role, and the player they say they are connected to.
- Tap Approve or Decline.
Declining is quiet. The person is told the request was not accepted, and they are not told who declined it.
Roles
When you approve someone you set their role.
- Parent or guardian sees their own player's team, RSVPs for them, and pays fees.
- Player sees their own team.
- Assistant coach gets the extra permissions you grant.
You can change a role later from the same screen.
Removing someone
Open Members, tap the person, then Remove from team. They lose access immediately. Their past messages stay in the chat history, which matters if you ever need a record.
